We invite students, postgraduates and doctoral students to become buddies for the EU TalentOn competition. Buddies will receive remuneration for work in the amount of PLN 3,000 gross based on a mandate contract.

EU TalentOn is a competition for European scientists aged 21-35. On September 9-14, 2024, 100 participants from all over Europe will come to Katowice to take part in a "scientific hackathon" for five intensive days, developing creative, innovative solutions to global social, technological and scientific problems.

Participants will be divided into 25 four-person teams. Each of these teams will receive a helper - a buddy - from the organizers. Buddy is a person who supports participants immediately before and during the September finals.

The tasks of buddies include:

• support for the participants of a given team during their arrival and during their stay in
Katowice,
• providing the most important practical information to participants related to their stay in Katowice.
• assistance in organizing the team's work at spinPLACE (ul. Bankowa 5, Katowice),
• team support during the competition finals, including:
- obtaining the necessary materials for work,
- assistance in uploading appropriate documents to disk space,
- arranging meetings with experts,
- arranging interview times for team members on TalentOn TV,
• organizational assistance during the competition finals.

People who want to apply to act as buddies must:
• be a student or doctoral student of a university of the Academic Consortium - Katowice City of Science,
• be fluent in English,
• declare their availability on September 6, 2024, between 10:00-15:00 (training for buddies will be held on this day),
• declare their availability within the dates: September 9-14, 2024,
• possess organizational and communication skills.

Recruitment will take place between July 30 and August 18, 2024, and will be divided into 2 stages.

Based on the applications, selected people will be invited to the 2nd stage of recruitment, which will take place on August 12-16, 2024 - it will be an online interview in English.
