Bet on science! – School of Science Communication

School of Science Communication is the innovation project in Poland, in which University of Silesia organizes the classes of science communication. The event is addressed to students, PhD students and teachers, but also to those who would like to learn new teaching methods of disseminating scientific issues. Three trainers: Andrea Brunello, Edward Duca and David Price will share their experience and knowledge of STEAM activities (STEAM: science, technology, engineering, the arts, mathematics;), science theatre and modern storytelling.

Workshops as part of the School of Science Communication will be held on 3 and 4 June 2024, from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. at spinPLACE in Katowice at ul. Bankowa 5. The registration form is open till 24 May: https://formularze.us.edu.pl/form/index/5297

The workshops will be conducted in English. Participation is free of charge.

Contemporary science communication is turning towards theatrical expression and creating emotional stories that, thanks to advanced presentation techniques, open science to new recipients. That is why, during meetings with trainers, participants will learn how to create drama in a way that engages the audience. We hope that the workshops will be an opportunity not only to expand current or future professional competences, but also a space to share experiences in teaching and receiving science in schools and at universities.

The aim of the School of Science Communication is to develop passion and increase educational opportunities in the field of modern teaching methods.

We encourage you to join us!
