We invite you to participate in the conference "Become a researcher", which is organized by the Academy of Young Scholars of the Polish Academy of Sciences and will be held on October 30, 2024, at the Cracow University of Technology.
This is the sixth edition of the meeting organized by the Academy of Young Scholars to encourage students and doctoral students to choose their career path. The meeting aims to popularize the profession of scientist among women, as well as to present possible paths of development.
The event will start on October 30 at 9.30 at the Cracow University of Technology, at 24, Warszawska Street and will be divided into three parts. The first one will be related to the presentation of profiles and stories of recognized women scientists, representing various fields of knowledge - from the humanities to engineering. In the formula of a short lecture, they will talk about their career path and why they decided to take up science. The lecturers will be former and present members of AMU, as well as invited experts, including Dr Monika Sady (UEK Kraków), Dr Anna FIN (University of the National Education Commission in Kraków), Prof Urszula Stachewicz (AGH), Prof Agnieszka Sobczak-Kupiec (Cracow University of Technology). In the second part of the conference, the so-called table discussions will be organized - participants will be able to talk in smaller groups with scientists representing their field of interest and learn more about the way of conducting research, the splendour and shadows of scientific work, or seek advice on how to best manage their professional development. The last part is a seminar on writing grant applications.
Participation in the meeting is free of charge, but registration is necessary (until October 18, 2024). The number of places is limited.
