Be like Robert Lewandowski! Get tested at EHTIC

European HealthTech Innovation Centre - EHTIC conducts top-class research related to the biomechanics of the human musculoskeletal system or the assessment of sensory integration. The captain of the Polish national team, Robert Lewandowski, took part in the research developed by scientists. EHTIC is also preparing to cooperate with other athletes.

The sportsmen's research program is one of the many interesting projects implemented at EHTIC - the most modern research and development centre in this part of Europe in the field of health technologies.

According to the director of EHTIC, Prof. Marek Gzik, the purpose of this program is to support training, improve performance during the match and prevent injuries. - This study is carried out with the participation of, among others, osteopaths and physiotherapists, and is focused on the analysis of movement, muscle activity, balance and reaction speed to external stimuli. One of the first footballers who underwent these tests is the captain of the Polish national team - Robert Lewandowski - said prof. Gzik.

The research was developed and conducted by an interdisciplinary team led by Dr hab. Eng. Jacek Jurkojć, prof. SUT, (Department of Biomechatronics at SUT), Dr Iga Garbowska (Osteopathy Clinic of Iga Garbowska) and Bartholomew Spałek M.A., (Górnik Zabrze).
