Awards for the Silesian University of Technology for cybersecurity management
On the 5th of August 2026, at the Silesian University of Technology, two ERM Leader statuettes were awarded to the Silesian University of Technology and to Dr Eng. Jarosław Homa – Representative for Cybersecurity at the Silesian University of Technology.
“ERM Leader” is a title awarded to employees of companies and institutions that have built outstanding risk management systems in cooperation with PBSG company. The aim of the award is to promote and publicise organisations that implement best practices in risk management.
- Representing the advisory community related to risk management and cybersecurity, we strive to appreciate clients who represent a high level of awareness related to this area - said Jacek Knopik, CEO of PBSG.
The company also emphasizes that it particularly wants to recognize people who have implemented the most impressive changes in organizations in the area of risk management. Both the individual merits of employees who have demonstrated commitment to building and developing risk management systems in organizations, as well as entire organizations, are recognized. The distinguished participants or representatives of the distinguished institutions meet annually during a kind of a forum and form a group of outstanding experts who exchange information in the field of cybersecurity.
On August 5th, the title of ERM Leader went to the Silesian University of Technology. It is the first university in Poland to receive this distinction.
As Jarosław Homa, Representative for Cybersecurity at the Silesian University of Technology, emphasized, this distinction signifies appreciation for the high quality of cybersecurity management. - This is an important signal for us that we meet the requirements of the laws and standards in this area and that we are conducting our activities in this area well, he noted.
Dr Eng. Homa was also recognized as an individual leader – his activity in debates, forums and conferences, and his commitment to promoting knowledge in the field of cybersecurity were highlighted.
- For me personally, it means appreciation of my work, also in the scientific field. Of course, this gives us great satisfaction, but with the full awareness that we should not stop, because there is still a lot happening in this area, - he added.
Let us remind you that this is another distinction recently received by the Silesian University of Technology, which highlights the University's approach to issues related to cyber threats. In June, the Silesian University of Technology received an award in the CYBERSEC Awards competition, which accompanied the CYBERSEC EXPO & FORUM conference.
