Award of the General Historic Preservation Officer for Karolina Chodura for her doctoral thesis
Dr Eng. Arch. Karolina Chodura received an award of Historic Preservation Officer and the Main Board of the Association of Monuments Conservators for her doctoral thesis. The subject of the work concerned Jewish necropolises in Silesian Voivodeship.
This year's edition of the competition of the General Historic Preservation Officer and the Main Board of the Association of Monuments Conservators for the best research and popularization works on the protection of monuments and museology was concluded on 22nd November.
The award in the category of doctoral theses was received by dr Eng. arch. Karolina Chodura for her doctoral thesis entitled "Jewish necropolises in the Silesian Voivodeship as architectural and cultural heritage", prepared under the supervision of prof. dr hab. Eng. arch. Magdalena Żmudzińska-Nowak.
- The doctorate was defended with honours in February this year before the Discipline Council of the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology. The reviewers of the work were: dr hab. Eng. arch. Jadwiga Urbanik, prof. of Wrocław University of Science and Technology and dr hab. Eng. arch. Beata Makowska, prof. of Cracow University of Technology. In both reviews there was a request for the work to be distinguished - informed prof. Żmudzińska-Nowak.
The work was created as a result of the "Diamond Grant" project implemented in 2017-2021 under the scientific supervision of prof. Magdalena Żmudzińska-Nowak. - Karolina Chodura is the only beneficiary of the "Diamond Grant" in the discipline "Architecture and Urban Planning" in the long history of the competition organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (today the Ministry of Education and Science - ed.) - emphasized Prof. Żmudzińska-Nowak.
