Award for the reconstruction of the courtyard of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation

The "Modernization of the Year & Construction of the 21st Century" competition has been resolved. The Silesian University of Technology was among the winners. The competition jury awarded a statuette for the reconstruction of the courtyard and renovation of the hall of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation.

During the gala at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Main Prize in the School, Education and Science Facilities Category was received by: dr hab. Eng. Tomasz Trawinski, prof. SUT, vice-rector for infrastructure and promotion, dean of the faculty prof. Franciszek Plewa and the designers of the awarded facilities, employees of the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology, dr Eng. arch. Grzegorz Nawrot, prof. SUT; dr hab. Eng. arch. Tomasz Wagner, prof. SUT.

The "Modernization of the Year & Construction of the 21st Century" competition was held for the 27th time. Its aim is to select construction projects: modernization and new facilities completed by the first quarter of 2023, distinguished by special qualitative, functional, urban and aesthetic values. The competition promotes the functionality of modernized and reconstructed buildings and structures, modern technologies and design solutions, the use of new techniques, modern, effective and safe equipment, high quality of construction and conservation works, ecological effects, and in the case of historic buildings, attention to architecture and protection of cultural heritage.
