Award for the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation
The modernization of the courtyard and the entrance hall of the building of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation was awarded. The project received the "Art & Design in Public Space" award and the BenchMan 2022 statuette. The award was received by the dean of the faculty, prof. Franciszek Plewa.
The award ceremony took place during the XXIV Gala of the Silesian Chamber of Civil Engineering The " Art and Design in Public Space" award and the BenchMan 2022 statuette are a special distinction initiated by dr. hab. Eng. arch. Klaudiusz Fross, prof. SUT Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology. – The award supports and promotes art and design in the public space of the Silesian region. The statuette is awarded to interesting projects of public spaces and small architecture as well as people, companies and institutions promoting design - explained Dean Fross.
During the gala, the following were also awarded:
- City of Gliwice - Municipal Office of Municipal Services in Gliwice - For the implementation of an attractive public space with a brine graduation tower in the Park of Culture and Leisure in Zatorze in Gliwice.
- The City of Zabrze - For the implementation of attractive public spaces related to cultural heritage - Park 12C, the ground zone of the Królowa Luiza Adit and the Water Tower with "Carboneum" in Zabrze.
- Katowicka Spółdzielnia Mieszkaniowa – For many years of attention to the attractiveness of public spaces in the resources of KSM.
The XXIV Civil Engineering Gala took place on November 25th , 2022, at the Zagłębie Palace of Culture in Dąbrowa Górnicza.
