Silesian University of Technology advances in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026
In the latest edition of the prestigious QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, Silesian University of Technology has been ranked in the Engineering & Technology broad subject area as well as in six specific disciplines. The University recorded a clear improvement in two of them compared to last year’s edition, while in the remaining fields it has been included in the ranking for the first time.
Silesian University of Technology’s positions in the QS WUR by Subject 2026:
- Engineering & Technology (broad faculty area): 501–550;
- Engineering – Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing: 301–350 (up from 401–450 in the 2025 edition);
- Materials Science: 301–350 (up from 351–400 in the 2025 edition);
- Engineering – Chemical: 351–400;
- Engineering – Electrical & Electronic: 451–500;
- Chemistry: 601–700;
- Computer Science & Information Systems: 751–850.
The presence across six disciplines and improved positions in selected areas confirm the University’s steady development and the strengthening of its research potential.
QS World University Rankings by Subject is one of the most widely recognised global university rankings, assessing institutions across individual disciplines. It takes into account factors such as academic and employer reputation, research impact, citation counts and the international cooperation.
