Aviation Workshops - General Aviation
Representatives of the Civil Aviation Authority, universities educating in aviation professions, flying clubs, private aviation training centres and general aviation service organizations met at General Aviation workshops. The two-day conference is held at the Educational and Congress Centre of the Silesian University of Technology.
As emphasized by the President of the Civil Aviation Authority, Piotr Samson, the conference is an opportunity to meet people related to the aviation industry, exchange information and discuss the current situation in aviation. – “The thematic scope is very wide. One of them is security. We will analyse various aviation incidents that will be presented by representatives of the State Commission for Aircraft Accident Investigation, as well as discuss drones, because it is currently an intensively developing segment”. - said Piotr Samson, President of the Civil Aviation Authority.
About 300 people take part in the conference, which takes place in the hybrid mode. Among them there are representatives of universities educating in aviation professions. – “Cooperation with universities, including the Silesian University of Technology, is very important to us. We encourage the entire community to cooperate in the triangle: administration, business and academic issues that give us access to the latest solutions and achievements” - said the President of the Civil Aviation Authority.
The Silesian University of Technology is one of the five national universities that implement the full process of aviation education and training as part of higher education. – “We cooperate intensively with aviation, because we want to educate in a modern way. During such meetings, we learn what to pay attention to and in which direction to go” - said Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education prof. Wojciech Szkliniarz.
As emphasized by Dr hab. Eng. Jarosław Kozuba, prof. of Silesian University of Technology, director of the Central and Eastern European Civil Aviation Staff Training Centre at the Silesian University of Technology, today's meeting is of great importance for the University.

The General Aviation workshops will last until September 15th, 2022.
