Aviation experts support education
A new term of office of the Council of the Civil Aviation Personnel Training Centre of Central and Eastern Europe has begun. Yesterday, the first meeting of the Council in the new composition was held at the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering. His Magnificence Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Marek Pawełczyk handed in appointments to the Council, composed of outstanding experts from the aviation industry.
The task of the Council is to advise and supervise the proper functioning of the Civil Aviation Personnel Training Centre of Central and Eastern Europe and the proper implementation of planned projects.
Dr Hab. Eng. Marcin Staniek Prof. SUT, Vice Rector for Collaboration with Civic and Economic Environment of the Silesian University of Technology has been appointed the Chairman of the Council in this term.
Artur Tomasik, President of the Management Board of Upper Silesian Aviation Group S.A., Chairman of the University Council, has been appointed the Deputy Chairman of the Council.
The Council is composed of experienced aviation industry experts, presidents of aviation-related companies or persons associated with government agencies. They will analyse the current activities of the Civil Aviation Personnel Training Centre of Central and Eastern Europe and provide opinion-forming and advisory support in the areas of the Centre’s broad development.
Composition of the Council of the Civil Aviation Personnel Training Centre of Central and Eastern Europe of the Silesian University of Technology in 2025:
- Dr Hab. Eng. Marcin Staniek Prof. SUT, Vice Rector for Collaboration with Civic and Economic Environment of the Silesian University of Technology
- Artur Tomasik, President of the Management Board of Upper Silesian Aviation Group S.A. Chairman of the University Council;
- Dr Hab. Eng Bogusław Łazarz, Vice-Rector for General Affairs of the Silesian University of Technology in 2020-2024, former Dean of the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering, Chairman of the Silesian Aviation Technology Laboratory Council;
- Andrzej Hawryluk, Deputy President of the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves;
- Dr Hab. Eng. Mirosław Kowalski, Prof. ITWL, Director of the Air Force Technical Institute;
- Piotr Samson, an expert in the aviation sector, President of the Civil Aviation Authority in the years 2016–2024;
- Tadeusz Wesołowski, AT Silesia sp. z o.o.
