Art at the Gallery X
Gallery X at the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology held the opening of the exhibition on the occasion of the World Art Day. Visitors can see as many as 144 works by artists from all over the world.
Gallery X was inaugurated in 2022. It is a joint work of the Association of Polish Artists and the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology, which prepared the current exhibition, and which can be viewed in the hall and the Column Hall of the Faculty of Architecture. Its opening attracted great interest.
- On the occasion of Leonardo da Vinci's birthday, the World Art Day established by UNESCO, is celebrated. This is a unique international artistic event, which we have decided to honour – explains Dr Arch. Klaudiusz Fross, Prof. SUT, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture. Congratulations to the organizers and the organizers. Students of architecture will be able to get acquainted with the presented works while participating in the classes held in Gallery X. It can be said that they will be surrounded by Art that affects them.
The exhibition includes the works of Prof Klaudiusz Fross, Dr Krzysztof Gron, Vice-Dean for Cooperation and Development and Dr Hab. Eng, Arch. Krzysztof Rostański, Prof. of Silesian University of Technology.
- We present 144 works in any subject matter and technique, not only by Polish artists, but also foreign ones, among others from Togo, Costa Rica, China – says Anna Zawisza-Kubicka, President of ZPAP Gliwice-Zabrze District. - I am glad to hear so much about organizing this exhibition. We did not select the works. We have accepted all those that have been submitted on time. There are a lot of them, and they are extremely diverse, so we had a lot of work on the exhibition, but the effect for the visitors should be satisfactory.
The exhibition can be viewed free of charge until 5 May during the opening hours of Gallery X, which is located at 10, Strzody Street in Gliwice.
- The project started modestly, with the acquisition of works by foreign artists, but over time it has grown to huge sizes, which makes us very happy - says Dr Iwa Kruczkowska-Król from the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology. "This is a great promotion of Gallery X and our faculty not only in Poland, but also internationally. We can see the beauty and diversity of the works presented here. We have- among others - paintings, unique fabrics, glass, ceramics, mosaics, sculptures, architectural designs, posters, or computer graphics.”
