As part of the celebrationof the European City of Science JM Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Marek Pawełczyk cordially invites you to open lectures, which on 20-21 November 2024 will be presentedby Robert Konieczny - architect, author of many outstanding buildings–winning the most important foreign awards, member of the French Académie d'Architecture and the Association of Architect–in the Czech Republic Obec Architektů, winner of the Award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
Robert Konieczny’s lectures will focus on the idea of architecture, approach to design and author’s understanding of the profession of architect.

- "It is worth racing with the whole world" - November 20, 2024 (Wednesday) at 14.00 in Hall C in the Education and Conference Centre of the Silesian University of Technology, at 18 B, Konarskiego Street in Gliwice.,
- "The Logic of Space - New Directions in Robert Konieczny's Projects" - 21 November 2024 (Thursday) at 12.00 in Hall 014 in building X of the Faculty of Architecture SUT, at 8, Strzody Street in Gliwice.
The projects of author’s studio of our guest - KWK Promes - were nominated fourteen times for the Mies van der Rohe Foundation award. His Ark in Brenna was awarded the title of the best house in the world at the Wallpaper Design Awards in 2017, and the Museum of Dialogue Centre “ Przełomy” in Szczecin won the titles of the best building in the world at the World Architecture Festival 2016 in Berlin and the best public space in Europe awarded in 2016 by the CCCB in Barcelona.
In 2024, his Plato Gallery of Contemporary Art in Ostrava became one of the five best buildings in Europe according to the Mies van der Rohe foundation established by the European Union.
