Another training raising awareness of the needs of people with disabilities has finished

The Silesian University of Technology held a training course entitled 'Safety of people with disabilities during evacuation from public buildings'.

During the theoretical part, the participants learned about current regulations regarding marking, learned how to act in emergency situations, how to behave in the event of a fire, as well as the rules of announcing an alarm and evacuation.

In the practical part, participants were familiarised with methods of evacuating people with disabilities from a building in an emergency situation. Such evacuation was simulated using, among others, wheelchairs, crutches, canes for the blind and visually impaired, blindfolds, earplugs to simulate hearing impairment, and a suit to simulate old age.

The training took place within the project POWR.03.05.00-00A084/19, "Silesian University of Technology - a university aware of needs and equalising life chances".
