Another success of the Silesian University of Technology scientists
Dr Hab. Eng. Gabriela Dudek, Prof. SUT from the Faculty of Chemistry has won the prestigious OPUS 30 LAP/Weave competition of the National Science Centre (NCN). She received a grant of PLN 2,375,200 for the implementation of the research project.
The project titled "From Polymer Chains to Hybrid Surfaces: Molecular Mechanisms of CO2 Transport in Biopolymer Membranes with Multifunctional Fillings” focuses on the implementation of innovative basic research. The research work will allow for a thorough understanding of the processes occurring at the molecular level, which is crucial for the development of modern membrane technologies for carbon dioxide capture.
The research will be carried out in close cooperation with a Czech foreign partner – the renowned Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovation operating within the Technical University of Liberec (TUL). The application, prepared in close cooperation with the National Projects Service Office (CZP1), underwent a rigorous substantive assessment by the Polish National Science Centre, which, as the lead agency, recommended the project for funding. The awarded grant in the amount of PLN 2,375,200 will cover the costs of the work of the Polish research team. The Czech side will finance the research carried out by the team from the TUL Institute through its domestic partner agency.
We sincerely congratulate the Professor and the entire team, wishing them every success in implementing this prestigious, international undertaking!
