Announcement concerning Student Residence Halls of the Silesian University of Technology
Ladies and Gentlemen, we deny any fake information appearing on the Internet regarding the rules for applying for accommodation in the Student Residence Halls of the Silesian University of Technology in the academic year 2022/23.
We hereby inform you that accommodation in student residence halls at the university is provided in accordance with the regulations specified in Ordinance No 199/2020 of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, wherein it is specified that the priority in the allocation of accommodation in a student residence hall is given to students whose daily commuting to the university makes studying impossible or significantly more difficult and to students in a difficult financial situation.
We encourage all present and future students of our university who are interested in accommodation in a student residence hall to submit their applications. All applications for accommodation in student residence halls, both those already submitted and those coming in, will be considered by a committee that also includes student representatives from the Student Housing Board and the Student Self-Government.
Each application for accommodation in a student residence hall will be considered on the basis of the criteria provided in the Silesian University of Technology Student Benefits Regulations, which form a part of the aforementioned Rector's Ordinance as of 2020.
Moreover, financially disadvantaged students may rely on scholarships and various other forms of support from the university.
