“Andrzejki” meeting for international students, PhD students, and employees of the Silesian University of Technology

On November 24^th, 2025, a unique “Andrzejki” event was held in the Employees’ Club of the Silesian University of Technology, prepared for international and Polish students, PhD students, and SUT employees. The meeting was aimed not only at bringing closer the traditions associated with this particular evening, but also at creating a space for free intercultural integration.

During the event, participants could take part in traditional “Andrzejki” divinations, such as:

• a shoe race that, as always, aroused a lot of emotions and laughter,
• pouring wax through the key and guessing the shapes appearing in the light,
• peeling apples and divination from skins.

In an atmosphere full of curiosity and fun, the participants had the opportunity not only to learn about Polish traditions, but also to talk about customs from different parts of the world. The meeting became an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, establish new relationships, and strengthen ties in the international academic community.

There was also a snack waiting for everyone, which was conducive to conversations and building a friendly atmosphere. The event ended in a spirit of joy, integration, and common discovery of tradition, leaving participants with pleasant memories and with new energy.
