The students of the Academic Secondary Comprehensive School of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice are implementing the project "ALO Academy of the Explorers" as part of the "Exempt from Theory” Olympics.
Hanna, Emilia, Zuzanna, Wiktoria and Hanna are pupils of the 2nd grade at Academic Secondary Comprehensive School (ALO) of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, who implement the project "ALO Academy of the Explorers". Their idea is to interest younger children in science, mainly through play and active participation. The pupils decided to inspire children to explore the fascinating world of natural science. They want to show them that subjects such as chemistry, biology, and physics can be fascinating and easy to understand if they are presented properly.
Behind them are two meetings in primary schools, in which they conducted classes entitled "Chemistry in the Kitchen" and "Chemical Power of Colours". During these meetings, the young pupils could, among others, check whether pickled cucumbers and lemons can receive electricity, what secrets UV light reveals, and also learn how to make a lava lamp or a fish smoke.
