Agreement for the Development of Raw Materials Education and Energy Transformation of Poland
In Lublin, during the VI Polish Mining Congress, the Agreement for the Development of Raw Materials Education and the Energy Transformation of Poland was signed. On behalf of the Silesian University of Technology, the document was signed by the Vice Rector for Collaboration with the Civic and Economic Environment, Dr Hab. Eng. Marcin Staniek, Prof. SUT.
The Agreement for the Development of Raw Materials Education and the Energy Transformation of Poland is a document defining the framework for cooperation in the field of modern human resources education, supporting strategic goals of raw materials policy, and building a strong scientific and educational base for sustainable transformation of the country.
One of the main co-founders of the agreement was the Dean of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology, Dr Hab. Eng. Krzysztof Filipowicz, Prof. SUT, who from the beginning participated in the development of its assumptions and set the direction of the discussion. Together with Dr. Hab. Eng. Arkadiusz Kustra (AGH) and Prof Radosław Zimroz (Wrocław University of Technology) he emphasized the key role of technical universities in the process of raw materials and energy transformation in Poland.
On behalf of the Silesian University of Technology, the document was signed by the Vice Rector for Collaboration with the Civic and Economic Environment, Dr Hab. Eng. Marcin Staniek, Prof. SUT, who was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation.
The agreement is one of the pillars of the Lublin Declaration “Górnictwo PL2050” (https://gornictwo2050.pl/) – a common manifesto of science, industry and administration. The message of the Declaration is to build a modern and responsible raw materials policy of the state, based on three foundations: education, innovation, and cooperation. Thanks to the active participation of its representatives, the Silesian University of Technology plays the role of one of the decision-makers in creating a new educational policy responding to the needs of the modern raw materials industry.
