Adam Wojaczek won the BMW M Cup!

Dr Eng. Adam Wojaczek, assistant professor of the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology, won the third edition of the BMW M Cup motorcycle brand cup.

The BMW M Cup is organized by BMW Sikora and is held on five tracks in five European countries. The scientist of the Silesian University of Technology dominated the competition this season.

- This is my second season of competition in this class - says coming from Rybnik. Dr Eng. Adam Wojaczek. “Last year there were individual successes, such as the victory at Pannonia. In the current year, further development and improved personal records on all tracks allowed to fight for the highest laurels.

This season consisted of six weekend rounds, two races each. The scientist of the Silesian University of Technology won the best time in qualifying in each round, which is why he started racing from pole position. In 12 races he won six times and took second place five times, which allowed him to win the whole cycle. That is a great result!

The riders competed this season at the track in Poznań, Brno, Rijeka in Croatia at Grobnik, Pannonia (Hungary) and Slovakiaring near Bratislava. National struggles are played simultaneously with the Polish Championships, and foreign trips under the aegis of the Central European Championships Alpe Adria.

“I didn’t finish just one race because of a tipper,” said the BMW M Cup winner. Next year, if the budget allows, I will continue to fight in this class. The competition in the cup is to become international, so I am curious about the level of foreign competition. Unfortunately, this sport is expensive, and I take the opportunity to invite sponsors to cooperation.

The assistant professor at our University has been associated with the automotive industry almost forever.

“I’ve been fixing and driving two-wheelers for as long as I can remember,” he recalls. - At the age of fourteen, I had a holiday episode at the RKM Rybnik speedway school. With age and budget came the time for bigger and more powerful bikes. In 2014, I also started driving on race tracks in our part of Europe. Four years later I took part in the Polish Cup in the Rookie 1000 class, finally taking sixth place, despite the lack of starts in the full cycle. The following years were devoted to amateur competitions and trainings. In the end I decided to come back and try my hand at professional racing.

It was an excellent decision and congratulations on your success!
