A Week of New Technologies in the City of Science
The fifteenth week in the City of Science is the week of new technologies. The event takes place as part of the European City of Science celebrations.
Katowice, Chorzów and Sosnowiec will become the epicentre of innovation during the Week of New Technologies. For seven days, science enters a new level, exploring the areas of physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, biomedical engineering, and materials engineering.
The exhibition “Accelerating Science,” entirely dedicated to CERN, will be presented in the building of the Silesian Centre for Education and Interdisciplinary Research in Chorzów. The exhibition contains three capsules containing, among others, a theoretical physics room or a children's corner. Interactive stands, experimental presentations and meetings with scientists will allow you to deepen your knowledge of the latest discoveries in this field of physics, opening the door to the mysterious world of microcosm.
The workshops, conducted by prominent specialists during the Week of New Technologies, will enable participants to immerse themselves in the latest technologies in practice. From artificial intelligence to nanotechnology, each participant will find something for themselves that will awaken their curiosity and open new horizons.
The lectures will be an important part of the Week of New Technologies. Experts from various fields will present their perspectives on the developing areas of science, gaining the attention of listeners and inspiring them to think outside the usual patterns. Discoveries in particle physics, artificial intelligence and modern materials will be brought closer in a way that will make even nonexperts begin to see the fascinating world of science.
Expert debates are another point of the program that will emphasize the ambiguity of the topic of the week. They will discuss ethical and social aspects of technological progress in nanotechnology, seeking to strike a balance between development and responsibility. In-depth discussions will allow you to look at the technology from different perspectives, taking into account both its benefits and potential challenges.
