A torrent of medals in Silesiada
First-year students of the Silesian University of Technology in Silesiada did great, winning as many as eight gold medals.
Let us remind you that Silesiada is a qualifying round for the National Final of the First-Year Student Games, which this year will take place in Lublin in early December. Young athletes competed in the following disciplines: women's and men's volleyball, women's and men's basketball, men's futsal, women's and men's swimming, women's and men's table tennis and women's and men's cross-country running. Only first-year students admitted to university for the first time could take part in Silesiada.

Among men, the competitors from the Silesian University of Technology, led by Wojciech Czapla, took gold. The volleyball players won in fantastic style, not losing a single set throughout the tournament.

Our players took second place in the futsal tournament. The fight there was extremely even - the three best teams scored the same number of points, and the two best, i.e. the Silesian University of Technology and UE Katowice, even had the same goal ratio. A small table of duels between the three best teams was decisive and UE Katowice won.
We would also like to add that in team sports, only the best teams of AZS Katowice will be represented at the tournament in Lublin.
Congratulations to all medallists!
