A student of the Silesian University of Technology at the World Championships in Glider Aerobatics in France

Miłosz Gondek, a 4th year student of Air Navigation at the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology, represented Poland at the 12th FAI World Championships in Glider Aerobatics in the Advanced class. The competition was held in France. In his category, our student came 21st 

The 12th  FAI World Advanced Glider Aerobatic Championships were held from August 17th to 28th , 2022 in Issoudun, France. The championships were attended by participants from the Czech Republic, Poland, USA, Germany, Austria and Argentina. 

 - “ In my Advanced class - 28 pilots took part. We competed in 5 programs, i.e. Program 1 - Free Known, Program 2 - Unknown 1, Program 3 - Free Unknown, Program 4 - Unknown 2, Program 5 - Unknown 3”  - explained Miłosz Gondek. 

Our student's participation in the World Championships in Glider Aerobatics in France is his next success. 

- “In June this year, I took part in the Polish Championships in Glider Acrobatics 2022 in Suwałki. In one of the programs - Free Unknown, I won a gold medal. Throughout the competition, I was ranked 6th ” - said Miłosz Gondek.

Miłosz studies in the fourth year of Air Navigation at the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology.

 - “Every day I represent the Aeroclub of the Lubuskie Region, but I train glider acrobatics in several cities - depending on the allocation of the equipment. This year it was Toruń, Radom and Poznań – Kąkolewo” - adds the student.  

Miłosz Gondek is not slowing down and is already preparing for the next competition.

 - “I plan to start next year in the Polish Championships and the World Championships. I will also continue to train for the ATPL (A) license at the Academic Aviation Training Centre of the Silesian University of Technology. I hope that all planned goals will be achieved next year.” - adds the student.

Miłosz Gondek began to be interested in aviation in his early childhood. He started his gliding course at the age of 15, obtained the SPL license at the age of 18, and a year later he also had a PPL (A) license. In February 2021, he was called up to join the National Team.
