A student of the Silesian University of Technology as a laureate of the 2022-23 BioLAB Program

Zofia Bosowska, a student of the second-cycle studies in biotechnology was among the winners of the 2022-23 BioLAB  Program. She will participate in an internship in one of the prestigious research centres in the USA, which is the University of Virginia.

As part of this year's edition of the BioLAB Program, 48 male and female students will complete a one-year internship at one of four selected American research institutions: the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, the University of Chicago, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the University of Virginia.

The BioLAB Program is addressed to master's and doctoral students of biological and chemical sciences and medicine. During the internship, students join research teams conducting projects in fields such as neuroscience, crystallography, virology or molecular genetics. The results of research conducted during the internship often become the basis for articles published in peer-reviewed scientific journals such as "Nature", "Proteins: Structure, Function and Bioinformatics" or "Acta Crystallographica".

The BioLAB stipend holders also participate actively in the life of the American university, participating in seminars, guest lectures and learn American culture.
