A Silesian University of Technology scientist nominated for the POP Science award
Dr Eng. Aleksandra Mierzejowska was nominated for the POP Science award in the "Think globally, act locally" category among candidates from the Silesian Voivodeship. The award goes to the best science popularisers and is presented during the Silesian Science Festival.
A scientist and science populariser, Dr Eng. Aleksandra Mierzejowska was nominated for the POP Science award. She has been recognized for her work to date. On daily basis she is associated with the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering, and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology. She popularizes science during major events, including Droniada, the Researchers’ Night, and the Silesian Science Festival. With great passion, she presents complex issues in an accessible and inspiring way, building a bridge between the world of science and society. Her motto is “Learning - in a simple, interesting, effective way!”

The POP Science distinction is awarded to people and projects popularizing science in three national categories (video blog, website/blog, radio broadcast/podcast) and two regional categories under a common name – think globally, act locally – separately for people employed at universities and those associated with the Silesian Voivodeship.
