A school and training laboratory for crisis management will be established at the Silesian University of Technology
At the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation, a Multi-Environment Automated Crisis Management System JAŚMIN (SZK JAŚMIN) is being created. It will be an innovative and extensive solution dedicated to the structures of the national and allied (NATO and EU) crisis management, civil protection, and civil defence system.
SZK JAŚMIN is a dual-use solution that can be used for both civilian and military purposes, providing comprehensive ICT support for the activities of the Polish Armed Forces, including the Territorial Defence Forces, uniformed services and public and local government administration during rescue and/or crisis situations and related to the implementation of preventive tasks.
This system supports the processes of management, planning, command, as well as monitoring the state of forces and resources allocated for crisis response, as well as current threats of a non-military and political-military nature throughout the country by creating a combined real-time picture of the crisis / operational situation. Users of this solution can be organizational units and units: Public services (e.g. Police, Fire Service, crisis Management Centres of all levels and other institutions operating during crisis situations), as well as the Ministry of National Defence (e.g.: Crisis Staff, Crisis Management Centres and Teams and Military Task Forces).
The person responsible for the new laboratory will be Dr Maja Taraszkiewicz Łyda from the Department of Safety Engineering. The official opening of the laboratory is scheduled for May.
