From March 1st , in the ZiIP field at the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology in Zabrze, for second-cycle students of full-time and part-time studies starting their education, a new specialization "Sustainable consumption and production" will be offered, implemented as part of the European consortium EURECA-PRO.

“Sustainable consumption and production" is a specialty that offers enormous development opportunities in a very modern and innovative area of activity of the global economy. It is dedicated to graduates of all first-cycle studies conducted at the Silesian University of Technology and other universities.

The launch of this specialty results from the fact that the Silesian University of Technology, together with its partner universities from Europe, was among the winners of the second edition of the European Universities competition.

The ongoing project "The European University Alliance on Responsible Consumption and Production EURECA-PRO" is dedicated to the 12th sustainable development goal SDG12, adopted by the United Nations in 2015 under the name "Sustainable consumption and production".
EURECA-PRO is a global educational centre and an interdisciplinary leader in research and innovation in environmental and social development for sustainable consumption and production of goods. It covers technological, ecological, economic, social and political aspects. International cooperation under this initiative aims to strengthen the higher education system in Europe, influencing mobility, civic engagement, promoting common values and approaches to responsible design of various types of systems.

The merger of universities from Europe in a consortium gives students and employees the opportunity to educate and conduct research in the field of one of the most important and dynamically developing concepts, including sustainable, innovative economic development, and in particular responsible production and consumption.
