A milestone in the cooperation with the Yanshan University in China
The Silesian University of Technology is glad to announce that the cooperation with Yanshan University is tightening and developing. In February 2021 the European Institute of Yanshan University was established in cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology.
Yanshan University (YSU) is the largest university in the Hebei Province in China. Currently, YSU educates 38,000 students. It employs 3200 faculty staff, 2200 of whom are full-time teachers including 489 professors and 667 associate professors.
We were informed by the Yanshan University, that their application to establish the European Institute of Yanshan University in Poland in cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology had been approved by the Hebei Provincial Department of Education. The European Institute of Yanshan University is an Overseas Education Project established in Poland within the frames of Chinese Overseas Education Project. This is the first overseas project of this type for Yanshan University. Both universities will recruit students for the joint study programme.
The European Institute of Yanshan University is established in cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology.
All students will be registered at both universities. Students who meet the graduation requirements of both universities will receive a graduation certificate and a bachelor's degree certificate from Yanshan University, and an engineer diploma from the Silesian University of Technology.
The education of students recruited in Poland will take 3,5 years. During this time they can study in China for one or two semesters.
The studies of Chinese students recruited in China take 4 years. Therefore the model of "1+3" was adopted. This means that students will study at the YSU in the first year and they will come to Poland for three subsequent years.
The European Institute of Yanshan University offers 5 majors in “Mechanical design, manufacturing, and automation”, “Electronic Science and Technology”, “Automation”, “Chemical Engineering and Technology”, “Electrical Engineering and Automation”.
The first intake is expected to take place in August 2021.
