A class with a polytechnic and linguistic profile will be created at the 1st High School in Świętochłowice thanks to cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology
An open mind, determination and dreams - according to His Magnificence Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk PhD, DSc, Rector of the Silesian University of Technology - are necessary qualities that candidates for the class of technical and linguistic profile should have. The class will be launched at Jan Kochanowski Secondary School No 1 with Bilingual Classes in Świętochłowice. This is due to the cooperation agreement signed on Friday, 16 April 2021 between the School, the City of Świętochłowice and the Silesian University of Technology.
For the University, the agreement was signed by His Magnificence the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk PhD, DSc. Other signatories were the Mayor of Świętochłowice - Daniel Beger and the Principal of Jan Kochanowski Secondary School No 1 with Bilingual Classes in Świętochłowice - Mariusz Szeremeta.

The pioneer class, which has already had a professional computer classroom, is a response to the growing interest of students in technical study programmes.

In line with the new class that will start on 1 September 2021, the Silesian University of Technology will also enable students of the Secondary School No 1 in Świętochłowice to participate in selected academic classes and support the school teachers in raising their professional qualifications. They will as well be able to count on substantive support of the classes by academic teachers.
Students of the Silesian University of Technology will also benefit from the cooperation, as they will be able to serve their apprenticeships at the Secondary School No 1.
Daniel Beger, the Mayor of Świętochłowice, is also satisfied with the agreement signed on Friday. The City decided to provide funding for additional hours in patronage classes.

The provisions of the agreement concluded between the Silesian University of Technology, the City of Świętochłowice and Jan Kochanowski Secondary School No 1 with Bilingual Classes in Świętochłowice will be implemented by the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science and the Institute of Education and Communication Research at the Silesian University of Technology.
