5th Polish Mining Congress during the EXPO KATOWICE Fair

From 6th to 7th September, the 5th Polish Mining Congress will be held in the International Congress Centre in Katowice. The event is coordinated by the Silesian University of Technology.

The Congress will be held as part of the International Fair EXPO KATOWICE - the Fair of Mining, Power Industry and Metallurgy. 200 Polish and foreign exhibitors have announced their participation at the fair. During the event, innovative technologies, mining machinery and equipment, as well as an offer in the field of green energy production will be presented.

- “We are glad that we are coming back after a three-year break caused by a pandemic, at a special historical and geopolitical moment, when the key task of the industry and its managers is to ensure the energy independence of our country” - emphasized Iwona Gramatyka, President of EXPO Katowice SA

The event accompanying the fair will be the 5th Polish Mining Congress. It is the most important forum for representatives of science and industry in the broadly understood mining area. This year's congress will be a unique event during which the current problems of the mining industry and the challenges faced by the mining industry in the 21st century will be discussed.

- “The organization of the congress coincided with the energy crisis and the disruption of the supply chain, which together with the war in Ukraine cause difficulties related to the supply of coal on the Polish market. On the second day of the Congress, there will be a debate with representatives of science, industry and independent experts on the current situation in the mining industry” - said Eng. Marcin Lutyński PhD, prof. of Silesian University of Technology  from the Department of Geoengineering and Raw Material Exploitation of the SUT.

The entire congress, in turn, will be held under the slogan: “Mining industry of the 21st century - how to search for, extract and process mineral and energy resources while protecting the climate and the environment?" The debate will be held from the 6th  to 7th  September 2022 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice.

The organizer of 5th Polish Mining Congress is the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology and the Foundation for the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology with its seat in Gliwice.
