2nd Forum of Rectors of Poland and Uzbekistan
On July 11, the 2nd Forum of Rectors of Poland and Uzbekistan took place in Warsaw. The event was attended by thirteen universities from Uzbekistan and eighteen representatives of Polish universities. The Silesian University of Technology was represented by the Rector, Prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk.
The meeting was an opportunity to learn about each other's educational potential and establish cooperation. Opening the meeting, Prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk recalled the short history of Polish-Uzbek academic cooperation. – The result of the efforts undertaken by CRASP together with the Perspektywy Educational Foundation is the number of over 2,000 Uzbeks currently studying in Poland, which places this country in the top ten countries from which young people come to our universities. We also see more and more clearly that Uzbekistan is opening up to European universities, so we hope that this meeting will be an opportunity for Polish and Uzbek universities to find common new fields of research and education - said the rector.
