Technologies of the Future
Why did Director Aleksander Sobolewski, Head of the Institute for Fuel and Energy Technology, illustrate his lecture on the energy transformation of Poland, Europe and the world with a model of a Formula 1 car? The answer was discovered by first-year students of the “Cognitive Technologies and Social Media” programme, who took part in field classes initiated by Professor Aleksandra Kuzior at the Institute’s laboratory located at 1 Zamkowa Street in Zabrze.
The Institute conducts research of strategic importance for the economy, focusing on the efficient use of fossil, renewable and alternative fuels. It plays a significant role in developing and implementing technologies and standards that enable changes in the energy system, while cooperating on research and development projects with more than 50 institutions in Poland and abroad.
In addition to attending interesting lectures on topics such as the possibilities of producing synthetic fuels and protecting the natural environment, the students were invited to tour the laboratory, where innovative technological solutions are developed, including those related to the circular economy.
The classes on sustainable development were attended by Professor Aleksandra Kuzior, while the part devoted to social communication techniques in environmental engineering was led by Dr Dariusz Krawczyk.
