The Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence field of study is a modern engineering programme that prepares students to design and implement data-driven solutions and artificial intelligence systems. The programme focuses on the practical applications of data science, machine learning and AI in engineering, industrial and business environments, whilst being grounded in the solid mathematical and algorithmic foundations necessary for understanding and the informed application of modern computational methods. Students acquire knowledge in mathematical analysis, linear algebra, statistics, discrete mathematics, algorithms and data structures, and optimisation, which form the foundation of machine learning methods, neural networks and predictive models. In parallel, students develop programming skills (Python, R, C#/Java) and abilities in IT systems design, data analysis, databases, cloud and network solutions, enabling them to combine theory with engineering practice. At the final-year stage, students choose one of two specialisation tracks:

• Data Engineering – focused on advanced data analysis, modelling and prediction,
• Machine Learning – covering machine learning engineering, advanced AI systems, IoT and generative artificial intelligence.

Project-based learning (PBL) modules, team-based engineering projects and a six-month work placement complement the programme, ensuring that graduates are well prepared to work in engineering teams developing modern, smart solutions, as well as ready to pursue further study at postgraduate level.
