MORE CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR GRADUATES!
We are delighted to announce that in this year's Competition for the best diploma thesis in regional studies, organized by the European Regional Science Association (ERSA), Polish Section, two representatives of the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology received distinctions!
This is an exceptional achievement, especially since over 40 theses from across Poland were submitted to the competition, covering an exceptionally broad and diverse range of topics.
🏅 Honorable Mention in the doctoral theses group was awarded to:
Dr. Eng. Arch. Aleksandra Wyrzykowska for her thesis entitled "Spatial Transformations of Decommissioned Hard Coal Mines in the Upper Silesian Agglomeration," written under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Arch. Krzysztof Gasidło.
🏅 Honorable Mention in the master's theses group was awarded to:
Maciej Godlewski, M.Sc. Eng. Arch. for his thesis entitled "The Spatial Transformation of Decommissioned Hard Coal Mines in the Upper Silesian Agglomeration." "A Way to Transfer: Using the Park & Ride System as a Tool for Adapting Cities to Contemporary Urban Challenges, Based on the Examples of the Metropolis GZM and the City of Gliwice," prepared under the supervision of Alina Pancewicz, Ph.D., Eng., Arch., Professor of the Silesian University of Technology.
The award ceremony took place during the 41st International Scientific Conference "Contemporary Conditions and Directions of Development of Industry and Services," held on December 1-2, 2025, in Krakow. Our winners not only received their awards at the event but also presented their research results in the form of papers, actively engaging in the scientific discussion and serving as ambassadors for the quality of our Faculty's scientific work.
