The Dean and the Dean's Council of the Faculty of Automation, Electronics, and Computer Science at the Silesian University of Technology are honored to invite you to the Ceremonial Inauguration of the 2025/2026 academic year at the Faculty of Automation, Electronics and Computer Science, for first-year students of all engineering programs offered by the Faculty, which will take place on October 3, 2025 (Friday) at 9:00 a.m. in Auditorium A of the Education and Congress Center of the Silesian University of Technology, ul. Konarskiego 18B.

The program of the ceremony includes  regular elements such as Gaudeamus Igitur, the oath ceremony, speeches by the Deans,  speeches by representatives of the Student Council, a presentation of the Faculty, and an inaugural lecture entitled “Beyond the image: the ultimate frontier of data - boldly decoding the world, pixel by pixel” - which this year will be given by Dr. Marek Szczepański.

✨ The ceremony will be graced by a speech by His Magnificence the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Marek Pawełczyk, PhD.

In connection with the ceremonial inauguration of the 2025/2026 academic year at the Faculty of Automation, Electronics, and Computer Science, the Dean of the Faculty announced that there would be no classes on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for students of all types and fields of study at the Faculty of Automation, Electronics, and Computer Science in Gliwice and Katowice.

This event is a unique opportunity to ceremoniously begin the new academic year and welcome our first-year students.
