Report on the VII Chess Tournament for the Applied Mathematics Faculty Championship
The annual Applied Mathematics Faculty Championship Chess Tournament was held on 30 May 2025. This was the seventh edition of the Applied Mathematics Faculty Chess Championship. This year's event was characterised by a record number of participants, as well as a high level.
The 7th Applied Mathematics Faculty Chess Championship was a record-breaking event both in terms of the number of participants and the level presented. The tournament had 15 participants. Bartłomiej Łokaj definitely stood out from a very evenly matched field, winning a set of 7 points. Jan Pochciał was second and Marcin Adam third - both two points behind the winner. The champion of amateurs (players without a chess category and FIDE ranking) was Konrad Wołoszyn.
