Summary of the Seifert Polska Workshop in Mysłowice
On May 29, 2025, an inspiring workshop was held at the headquarters of Seifert Polska in Mysłowice for students of Logistics and Transport from the Silesian University of Technology. The aim of the meeting was not only to present the practical aspects of working in the TSL (Transport, Shipping, and Logistics) industry, but also to highlight the unconventional connections between nature and logistics.
One of the first and most surprising topics of the workshop was the analogy between the life of bees and logistics processes. Participants discovered that the organization of a beehive, the communication system among bees, and the efficiency of nectar and pollen transport are fascinating examples of “natural logistics.”
The next part of the program focused on the role of the freight forwarder – one of the key figures in the supply chain. Students learned about the daily responsibilities of a person in this position and the challenges faced in operational work. Tools that support the work of a forwarder were also presented, such as TMS systems, communication platforms with drivers, cargo tracking systems, and route planning and documentation management tools.
The workshop also included a hands-on session – participants made their own beeswax candles. This activity was not only a relaxing break from the theoretical part but also a symbolic reference to teamwork and precision – qualities that are just as important in logistics as they are in the life of bees.
The meeting concluded with a Q&A session and a brief networking opportunity, giving students the chance to interact directly with representatives of Seifert Polska.
We would like to thank Seifert Polska for their hospitality, the professional preparation of the workshop, and for giving our students the opportunity to gain valuable practical knowledge!
