Innovations in Smart Cities – A Discussion with Global Experts

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of participating in a remarkable event held as part of the Science Days 2025, organized by the Silesian University of Technology. During the panel titled “Innovations in Smart Cities,” moderated by Katarzyna Turoń PhD DSc Eng., Professor at the Silesian University of Technology, an inspiring discussion took place on the future of smart cities.

The panel featured distinguished international experts recognized as Highly Cited Researchers:

• Prof. Marcel Bogers (TU Eindhoven)

• Prof. Vinit Parida (Luleå University of Technology)

• Prof. Pierluigi Siano (University of Salerno)

The industrial perspective was presented by Maciej Irlik PhD Eng. from ALSTOM, who shared insights and experiences in smart mobility and urban infrastructure.

The discussion focused on the key challenges and opportunities related to open innovation, digital business models, and energy transformation in the cities of the future.
