Prof. dr hab. inż. Dorota Burchart received the title of professor of engineering and technical sciences
On December 10, 2024, the ceremony of presenting certificates of professorial nominations took place at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw. The act of conferring the title of professor in the field of engineering and technical sciences in the discipline of civil engineering, geodesy and transport was received by prof. dr hab. inż. Dorota Burchart, researcher at the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology. The nomination act was presented by the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.
Scientific and research activity of prof. Doroty Burchart is characterized by interdisciplinary. She obtained the degree of habilitated doctor in the discipline of environmental engineering, thanks to which prof. Burchart combines the issues of environmental protection, logistics and transport systems management, production engineering and energy systems. Her research and scientific interests include: carbon footprint management, sustainable development, green economy issues, life cycle management and the development of alternative fuels in transport, including in particular electromobility and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Prof. Dorota Burchart was the head of many domestic and foreign research and development projects and commissioned work. She is the author or co-author of more than 250 publications published in Poland and abroad. He teaches classes on the carbon footprint, environmental life cycle assessment in transport, sustainability reporting in organizations, and many others. She completed research internships and lectured at universities at foreign research centers and research institutes in Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic. Prof. dr hab. inż. Since 2022, Dorota Burchart has been on the prestigious World's Top 2% Scientists list of the world's most influential scientists every year.
