Wojciech Dudzik's doctoral thesis awarded for the best doctoral dissertation in the field of artificial intelligence!

We are pleased to announce that Wojciech Dudzik's doctoral thesis entitled “Ensembles of support vector machines with evolutionarily optimized hyperparameters and training sets” was awarded in the thirteenth edition of the Polish Artificial Intelligence Association (PSSI) competition for the best doctoral dissertation in the field of artificial intelligence. The award ceremony, combined with a presentation of the thesis, took place on October 29 this year during the annual PSSI meeting at the Institute of Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw.

As part of his doctoral thesis, Dr. Wojciech Dudzik dealt with issues related to the classification of difficult data sets using support vector machines. He developed a number of evolutionary algorithms that simultaneously select features and elements of the classifier's training set, as well as optimize its hyperparameters. The thesis supervisor was Prof. Michał Kawulok, and the assistant supervisor was Jakub Nalepa, PhD, Eng., Prof. at the Silesian University of Technology.

We congratulate Dr. Wojciech Dudzik and wish him further scientific success!
