Glass Age Conference
On April 18-19, 2024, the first edition of the "Epoch of Glass" conference was held in Krakow, Poland, organized by Lukasiewicz - Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials and the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology.
The first day of the conference began with speeches by invited guests and a lecture by Prof. Manuela Reben of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow, who touched on the versatility of the use of glass as a material whose applications reach far beyond traditional construction. The session concluded with a debate on cooperation between science and industry, challenges and prospects for the glass industry, moderated by Magda Kosmal, PhD, and Marcin Kozlowski, PhD, Prof. PŚ.
On the second day of the conference, participants had the opportunity to attend two sessions, during which they listened to more than a dozen papers. Speakers discussed a range of topics, from current trends in glazed façade design to sustainable manufacturing practices in the glass industry.
