Doctoral and habilitation promotions’ ceremony
On May 20, 2023, the annual ceremony of the doctoral and habilitation promotions took place at the Education and Congress Center of the Silesian University of Technology. This event, traditionally, is organized on the anniversary of the establishment of the Silesian University of Technology, which falls on May 24. Last year, 31 people received the degree of doctor habilitated, including scientists from the Faculty of Civil Engineering:
- Dr. hab. Eng. Witold Basiński, associated prof. at SUT,
- Dr. hab. Eng. Pawel Krause, associated prof. at SUT,
- Dr. hab. Eng. Marian Łupieżowiec, associated prof. at SUT.
The doctoral degree obtained 106 people. Among them, representatives of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, in the discipline of civil engineering, geodesy and transport:
- Dr. Eng. Sofia Kekez
- Dr. Eng. Wojciech Osetek
- Dr. Eng. Michal Talaj
- Dr. Eng. Konrad Walotek
- Dr. Eng. Karol Wandoch
During this year's ceremony of doctoral and habilitation promotions, the title of Honorary Professor of the Silesian University of Technology was also awarded. This year it was given to Fr. prof. Joseph Bremer. This title is awarded to outstanding scientists and academic teachers who contribute to building the prestige and development of the Silesian University of Technology with their attitude, activity and commitment.
