Announcement on wage increases for employees of the Silesian University of Technology

Ladies and Gentlemen, We kindly inform you that the Silesian University of Technology and the trade union organizations operating at the University made Arrangements on the rules for increasing the basic salaries of employees.

In connection with the Announcement of the Minister of Education and Science of February 15th , 2023 on increasing the amount of subsidies from financial resources for the maintenance and development of teaching and research potential granted for 2023, pursuant to art. 27 sec. 3 of the Act of May 23rd , 1991 on trade unions (consolidated text Journal of Laws of 2022, item 854), the employer, i.e. the Silesian University of Technology represented by the Vice-Rector for General Affairs - prof. dr hab. Eng. Bogusław Łazarz and trade union organizations operating at the University, i.e.: Organization of the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union "Solidarity" Silesian University of Technology represented by the Chairman - dr  Eng. Krzysztof Tytkowski; The Polish Teachers' Union represented by the President - dr hab. Eng. Wioletta Przystaś, prof. SUT; The Trade Union of Employees of the Silesian University of Technology represented by the Chairman, Dr Krzysztof Czapla, prof. SUT; The Inter-Enterprise Trade Union Committee of the "Kontra" Trade Union at the Silesian University of Technology, represented by the Chairperson - Lidia Kołodziejczyk, MA, declare that they have agreed on the rules for the distribution of funds allocated to the University, referred to in the Annex to the Communication of the Minister of Education and Science of February 15th , 2023 on increasing the amount of subsidies from financial resources for the maintenance and development of teaching and research potential, for increasing the gross salaries of University employees from January 1st , 2023 as follows:

  1. The rates of the basic salary of the employees of the University, whose basic salary is financed from the subsidy, are increased by 9% (Basic salary rates will be rounded up to full zlotys), while the basic salary rate after the increase will not be lower than PLN 3,600 in full-time equivalent , and the given amount is calculated in proportion to the employment conditions, subject to section 2.
  2. Employee remuneration financed from external sources may be subject to individual regulation, depending on the funds available as part of its source of financing.
  3.  The basis for calculating the regulation referred to in par. 1-2 is the gross base salary as of December 31st, 2022.
  4.  The increase in the basic salaries of employees employed at the University is determined starting from January 1st , 2023, according to the employment status on that day.
  5. In cases not covered by these arrangements or in doubtful cases, the decision is made by the Rector.

At the same time, we would like to inform you that the remuneration regulation in question will be carried out immediately.
