January 26th, 2023
15:00-16:00
Summary:
Cement industry is consistently one of the top sources of CO2 emissions, and in light of pressing climate change issues, it is vital that ways of decreasing carbon footprint of cement are found. This presentation will explore chosen ways of decreasing carbon footprint of cement - by using limestone powder as a main constituent of cement, both in terms of common cements based on Portland clinker, and specialty calcium sulfoaluminate clinker cements.
Bio-note:
Ph.D., Eng. Małgorzata Gołaszewska is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Building Processes and Building Physics at the Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland. She received her PhD in the topic of properties of limestone cements. Her research interests include concrete and cement technology in connection to green cements and sustainable building materials.
