Prof. Jacek Gołaszewski laureate of the Prof. Aleksander Dyżewski Award
We are delighted to announce that Prof. Jacek Gołaszewski has been awarded the Prof. Aleksander Dyżewski Prize. This award was granted by the decision of the Award Chapter of the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians (PZiTB) "for a lifetime of outstanding scientific activity in recognition of particular contribution to the development of technology, organisation and economics in the construction industry".
The Award of the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians named after Professor Aleksander Dyżewski is awarded for outstanding scientific and practical achievements in the field of engineering of investment projects and construction processes. The award may also be given for a lifetime of scientific or practical activity in the aforementioned field.
Aleksander Julian Dyżewski (1893 - 1970) was a road and bridge engineer, professor, dean and rector of the Warsaw University of Technology. He co-founded the scientific approach to the problems of construction technology and organisation. He was also a co-founder of the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians.
The prize has been awarded since 1975. Previous winners from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology were Prof. Leon Rowiński (1979) and Prof. Jan Mikoś (1983).
