EURECA-PRO competition with prizes

As part of the EURECA-PRO project, which brings together 7 European universities, the "STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Innovation Contest" competition will be carried out, consisting in solving real problems posed by industrial partners by students.

The competition will consist of two stages. The first stage will be local, held as part of the University (February-March 2022): groups of 4 students (the last two years of first-cycle studies, including at least 1 woman), supported by 1 or 2 mentors (University employees, one of the mentors must be at least a PhD, the participation of a female mentor will be additionally rewarded), they will prepare a detailed concept and plan for an innovative solution to any problem, chosen by them from the list of problems accepted by the jury of the competition. One of the proposed solutions will be selected for implementation. The selected group will implement its proposed solution in the period from April to July 2022, with financial support in the amount of EUR 1,500, and then in mid-July it will go to one of the partner universities, where the second stage of the competition will be carried out, consisting in the presentation of the developed solution problem in front of the international jury of the competition. The main prize in the competition is a 2-month internship (in the period from August to October 2022) at one of the industrial partners of the project, and for the participation in the competition alone, students can obtain ECTS points (this, however, is not included in the competition regulations and depends on from the decisions of heads of units). The mentors of the winning group will receive a certain amount for the purchase of educational materials or equipment, or for visits / internships at partner universities. The language of the competition is Polish or English in the first stage of the competition and English in the second stage of the competition.

The recruitment of groups of students, along with mentors who will take part in the competition, has already started and will last until January 31. The recruitment link and the competition rules can be found at: https://www.eurecapro.eu/stem-innovation-contest/
