Public consultation: Digitization of the energy sector

The European Commission closed the communication period on the EU action plan for the digitization of the energy sector, to which 44 stakeholders replied. The public consultation round has now begun, with stakeholders filling in a questionnaire to express their views on what the upcoming EU Action Plan should look like. Public consultations last until January 24, 2022.

The questionnaire consists of approximately 50 questions. Most of them are multiple-choice questions with a few open-ended questions. The questions are divided into three separate sections: the first two sections are intended for all stakeholders, while the third section is mainly intended for digitization experts.

The aim of the upcoming Action Plan is to identify how different EU policies and funding instruments will work together to take advantage of the benefits of the digital transformation of the energy system, while minimizing the inherent risks and environmental footprint of relevant digital solutions.

The questionnaire is available online.
