Automatic drug dispenser - interview for Radio Katowice
We are pleased to announce that on April 29 at 1.30 pm Polish Radio Katowice broadcasted an interview with Grzegorz Gruszka from the Department of Biomechatronics. Mr. Gruszka described his research on the design of an automatic drug dispenser, characterized by modularity, safety of use and low costs of manufacturing.
The device allows to store 21 doses of drugs, each in a separate compartment. The dispenser is equipped with safeguards that prevent the collection of an incorrect dose of medications, and also prevents the medications from spilling out in the event of overturning. The device also acoustic and optical alarm systems reminding a patient to take medications. In addition, the device has the ability to wirelessly send notifications reminding about medications or informing the caregiver about skipping a dose.
An automatic drug dispenser developed at the Department of Biomechatronics was also presented during COPM 2021 conference.
