The Fraunhofer Design Centre at the Silesian University of Technology will be established in Rybnik. On 26 January a letter of intent was signed. The Centre will implement projects in the field of energy transition and smart region.

The letter was signed by the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship Jakub Chełstowski, Vice-Marshal Wojciech Kałuża, Mayor of Rybnik Piotr Kuczera, Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk, Chairman of the Union of Municipalities and Counties of the Western Subregion of Silesian Voivodeship Mieczysław Kieca, Director of the Union Office, Adam Wawoczny.
