Working Group for Industry 4.0 Implementation Management Issues
Digital transformation is the process of incorporating digital technologies into all aspects of an enterprise’s operations in order to meet market and changing business requirements. Unfortunately, as the research results of many consulting companies show, nearly 70 percent of comprehensive digital transformation projects for enterprises fail. Digital transformation requires fundamental changes to all aspects of your business. Organizations must reorient their business model, strategy, organizational capabilities and business processes to be able to create value throughout the product lifecycle. You need solutions, methods and tools that will provide guidelines and support in adjusting business strategies and operations to the Industry 4.0 concept.
The scope of work of the working group
- Development of a reference model for managing the digital transformation of the enterprise at the following levels:
- strategic
- operational
- worker’s
- Identification of tools supporting digital transformation in the field of:
- building a transformation strategy
- implementation of the adopted strategy / transformation plan
- Design Thinking process as a facilitator of digital transformation among the lower-level staff
- Building a database of models for assessing digital maturity of enterprises
- Assessment of digital maturity of enterprises
- Development of use case catalogs (good practices)
- Building a database of partners among leaders and enterprises interested in digital transformation.
The working group consists of specialists from the Silesian University of Technology in the field of strategic management, business models, project management, production engineering, logistics and representatives of Industry 4.0 solution providers responsible for consulting in digital transformation.
The aim of the working group is to identify and develop new knowledge in the field of ways of digital transformation of enterprises, including:
- Building a reference model for managing digital transformation
- Monitoring the digital maturity of the organization
- Collecting and disseminating good practices in the transformation process
